Plain bearing, bushing and bearing-housing repair
Worn bearing bores, fretted bushing seats and vibration-loosened housings shift the rotating axis and shorten coupling and seal life.
The need for plain bearing, bushing and bearing-housing repair
BHI Coatings performs plain bearing, bushing and bearing-housing repair across Alvin and the Texas Gulf Coast. Worn bores, fretted bushing seats and a housing loosened by vibration all do the same thing. They let the rotating axis drift off true. The shaft stops sitting where the design put it, couplings load unevenly, seals leak early, and the misalignment chews through new bearings about as fast as the crew can install them.
How BHI Coatings does plain bearing, bushing and bearing-housing repair
BHI Coatings rebuilds bearing bores and retainer surfaces cold with a machinable composite such as Belzona 1311, then re-chocks the housing back to alignment. Depending on the job, we pour the bearing seat against the shaft or machine it to the bearing's outside diameter. No welding heat goes into the housing to push it off line again.
Typically applied with Belzona 1311, matched to the service conditions.
The bearing seats to spec and the rotating axis is back where the design put it. Coupling and seal life come back, with no trip to the OEM shop for a re-bore.
