Cavitation and erosion-corrosion keep reshaping impeller vanes and casing wear rings until the pump slides off its head curve. From there it is all one direction: less flow, more power draw, and an energy cost that climbs every running hour. The usual alternative, a re-bladed or replacement impeller, is a long-lead spare plus a balancing job.

How BHI Coatings does pump impeller and casing rebuilding

BHI Coatings rebuilds vane geometry and casing wear areas with cold-cure metal composites such as Belzona 1311 and 1111, then applies a smooth low-friction overcoat to restore the hydraulic profile. Our crew prepares the eroded surfaces, brings them back to the design contour, and finishes them for flow. Because no weld heat goes in, there is no distortion to chase and no reason to rebalance the rotor.

Typically applied with Belzona 1311, Belzona 1111, matched to the service conditions.

The result

The pump gets its design flow and efficiency back, so it draws less power for the same duty. It goes back together without waiting on a long-lead impeller and without a re-balance for weld heat.
