The need for atmospheric corrosion protection
BHI Coatings performs atmospheric corrosion protection across Alvin and the Texas Gulf Coast. On the Texas Gulf Coast the air itself is the problem. Airborne moisture, chlorides, and humidity off the Gulf attack exposed steel long before its original coating reaches the end of a service interval. Pumps, motors, structural members, and equipment still sitting on its delivery skid start corroding under insulation, at fastener heads, and along weld toes, and once rust takes hold the prep and recoat bill climbs with every cycle of neglect.
How BHI Coatings does atmospheric corrosion protection
We abrasive-blast or power-tool the exposed metal to a clean, anchored profile, then apply a barrier coating rated for atmospheric and marine exposure. The crew coats new equipment before it is commissioned, or works around running assets in the field. A surface-tolerant Belzona 5000-series barrier system cures at ambient temperature, so there is no hot work and no return trip to a shop.
The asset goes back to work behind a long-life barrier built for Gulf Coast humidity and salt. The corrosion clock resets, and the next recoat moves well down the road.
