BHI Coatings performs erosion-corrosion resistant equipment coatings across Alvin and the Texas Gulf Coast. Flowing media scours the protective film off the metal, and the bare steel underneath is what the process chemistry goes to work on. Combined erosion-corrosion thins seawater filters, amine system internals, impellers, blades, and rudders far faster than either mechanism would alone. Efficiency drops, and equipment gets retired well short of its design life.
How BHI Coatings does erosion-corrosion resistant equipment coatings
We prep the affected surface and apply a ceramic-filled coating rated for the combined abrasive and chemical load, in the field or in our climate-controlled Alvin shop. Surface prep is matched to the immersion service, which is what makes the barrier bond and stay put. One cold-applied recoat handles both failure modes together, with no hot work and no heat into thin sections.
The filter, impeller, or rudder comes back under one barrier that holds off wear and chemical attack together. Efficiency returns, and the interval between repairs stretches.
