The need for insulation jacketing and lagseal protection

BHI Coatings performs insulation jacketing and lagseal protection across Alvin and the Texas Gulf Coast. Cladding leaks at seams, support legs, and pipe penetrations. Rain and wash-down work in behind the jacket and settle against the pipe. The water hides under the lagging and feeds active CUI, so the corrosion runs unseen until an inspector pulls the cladding and finds the damage already done.

Our method

How BHI Coatings does insulation jacketing and lagseal protection

We seal the cladding with a reinforced membrane at the seams and penetrations, then tie that into a weather-side coating. We use systems such as Belzona 3211 lagseal with 9321 reinforcement and weatherproofing topcoats. It is cold-applied on site, with no hot work over the insulated line.

Typically applied with Belzona 3211, Belzona 9321, Belzona 5151, Belzona 5871, matched to the service conditions.

The result

The jacket sheds water at every seam and every penetration. CUI never gets started under the lagging, and the insulation stays dry and effective.
