Potable-water concrete repair
Concrete in drinking-water tanks and channels degrades, but any repair material has to be certified safe for contact with potable water.
The need for potable-water concrete repair
BHI Coatings performs potable-water concrete repair across Alvin and the Texas Gulf Coast. Concrete in a drinking-water tank or channel degrades like concrete anywhere else. The difference is that every repair material has to be certified safe for contact with potable water, and that rules out most general-purpose patching compounds. A utility cannot put a tank back in service until the repair is proven safe for the supply.
How BHI Coatings does potable-water concrete repair
We repair and coat potable-water concrete with materials certified for drinking-water contact, prepping the substrate and rebuilding from inside the structure. Our crew schedules the work to fit the outage window the utility already has. It is cold-cure, so there is no hot work in the confined tank or channel.
The tank or channel comes back with a certified, water-safe repair, and it goes back into service inside the utility's scheduled outage.
