Rubber fender and component repair

Impact and abrasion tear dock fenders, skirting, and molded rubber parts faster than replacement parts can be sourced and shipped.

The problem

The need for rubber fender and component repair

BHI Coatings performs rubber fender and component repair across Alvin and the Texas Gulf Coast. Impact and abrasion tear dock fenders, skirting, and molded rubber parts faster than a replacement can be sourced and shipped. A molded marine fender or a custom rubber component carries a long lead time and a high replacement cost. Meanwhile a torn fender that keeps taking berthing loads puts both the structure and the vessel at risk.

Our method

How BHI Coatings does rubber fender and component repair

We rebuild torn rubber components cold with a high-build elastomer that bonds to the existing part. Our crew cleans and abrades the torn area, cuts away the degraded rubber, then rebuilds the section by hand, on the dock or back in the Alvin shop. The supporting Belzona 2211 and Belzona 2311 elastomers carry the impact and flex of marine fender service, and both cure cold with no hot work near the waterline.

Typically applied with Belzona 2211, Belzona 2311, matched to the service conditions.

The result

Damaged fenders, skirting, and molded parts go back to work with no replacement order and none of its lead time. Texas Gulf Coast marine operators keep berths and equipment working right through the repair.
