Tank & Containment Lining

Evaporator, de-aerator and autoclave lining

Evaporators, de-aerators, and autoclaves run hot and wet, so conventional linings break down and the shell corrodes at welds and tube zones.

The problem

The need for evaporator, de-aerator and autoclave lining

BHI Coatings performs evaporator, de-aerator and autoclave lining across Alvin and the Texas Gulf Coast. Hot and wet is the worst combination a coating can face, and evaporators, de-aerators, and autoclaves run both at once. Conventional linings soften and break down at temperature, and the shell starts corroding at welds and tube zones. Once the lining lets go, condensate and process water reach bare steel and wall thickness disappears quickly.

Our method

How BHI Coatings does evaporator, de-aerator and autoclave lining

We match a high-temperature immersion-grade lining to the actual service temperature of the vessel, then blast and profile the interior before anything is applied. Our crew works the vessel in the Alvin shop or inside your facility, whichever the size and access call for. The system goes on cold and cures during the outage, with no heat soak and no hot work inside the shell.

The result

The vessel recoats inside the planned outage and comes back rated for the same hot, wet service that wore the original lining out.
