Oil and transformer leak sealing
Oil leaks at transformer tanks, gearbox cases, and weld seams persist because the oil film stops conventional adhesives from setting.
The need for oil and transformer leak sealing
BHI Coatings performs oil and transformer leak sealing across Alvin and the Texas Gulf Coast. The oil film is the whole problem. It keeps standard adhesives from setting, so leaks at transformer tanks, gearbox cases, and weld seams shrug off a conventional repair. The leak keeps running, the film keeps spreading, the housekeeping and environmental exposure pile up, and draining the unit to chase one seam buys a long outage and a costly refill.
How BHI Coatings does oil and transformer leak sealing
BHI Coatings seals the leak with an oil-tolerant compound, typically Belzona 1212, that cures directly onto oil-wet steel. The crew preps the weeping area and works the material into the leak path with the unit still full. It is cold-cure and done in place, so no hot work goes near the oil and no heat goes into the case.
Typically applied with Belzona 1212, matched to the service conditions.
The leak stops and the transformer, gearbox, or tank never gets drained. The equipment stays charged or in service with its oil charge right where it was.
